EZlap Timing System

X-Racer X-1 Racing with EZlap Timing System

The EZlap timing system is a race management system that specially designed for both indoor and outdoor small scale drone racing. It allows 4 pilots to race at once.

The EZlap timing system comes with a master controller, 3 infrared receiver modules, 8 transmitters. The system is powered by a PC or laptop via a USB cable connecting to the USB port of master controller. It is easy to install, simply mount the master controller and receiver modules in the racing gate, install the transmitters in the racing drones, then install the free RCM Beginner software (can be downloaded at the bottom of this page) in your computer and connect with the provided USB cable, you and your friends will be able to start the racing just in a minute.

The master controller sends the signals that received from the infrared receiver modules to the computer after processing.
The infrared transmitter is 0.4g only, it will not increase any weight to the racing drone since it is so light in weight. It has 8 different address codes which are switchable via the 3-digit DIP switch. Start to send the address codes after powering on via USB.
The infrared receiver modules receive the address codes from the transmitters and send them to master controller.

Connection and Use

  • The master controller is powered by the USB after connecting to the PC. No extra power supplies required.
  • The receiver modules and master controller are connected with three special made 6-pin plug cables. In the EZlap timing kit there are 4 receiver modules (including the master controller) included. But how many modules you need depending on your track width and the height of your bridge. The quantity of receiver modules is also limited by the USB loading capacity.
  • The infrared transmitter is powered by the built-in button cell battery.
  • Connect the master controller to the PC with the provided USB cable, access to the free RCM Beginners software and set the pilots information.
Package Inlcuded:

  • Master controller x 1 (similar to receiver module but with a USB port)
  • Receiver module x 3
  • Transmitter for racing quad x 8
  • 16cm 6-pin plug camble x 3
  • 3m long USB cable x 1

32Bit Wraith32 BLHeli ESC Started Shipping Out

The first ESC that supports BLHeli_32 has already been announced – the Wraith32 and Wraith32 Plus by Airbot and FPV Model.

Wraith32 Plus is a BLHeli_32 50A ESC that comes with a 6S powerhouse that supports voltage limiting and current limiting as well as a bright RGB LED. Wraith32 comes with a smaller 6S version that also supports voltage limiting and current limiting as well as a bright RGB LED.  The Plus has double mosfet (12pcs. instead of 6pcs.),  so it works better on a high current.

FPV Model has started taking the pre-orders on these two BLHeli_32 ESCs. You are having a chance to be the first one in the world receiving the ESCs. From May 10th, the pre-orders of Wraith32 have already been started shipping out.

BetaflightF3 Flight Controller Released

http://www.fpvmodel.com/betaflightf3-flight-controller_g1231.html

BetaflightF3 is the flight controller designed to use every possible feature of betaflight. More than the last half year has been spent in development. Boris B has worked with us to go over features and design aspects to help give us insight into what betaflight users want/need.

This board features a 3A power draw giving users extra room for added attachments through uart ports. The six layer PCB is a more expensive design approach but was needed to give the ability to have a PDB that was capable of having wiring pads on both the top and bottom of the board. By using the six layer design we were able to increase the size of the pads and work around all the components all the while giving esc connections in the corners of the board rather than bunching all connections on either the top OR the bottom. Featuring a fully functioning OSD that can be configured in Betaflight this board will make configuring your OSD a breeze.

The team at betaflight have been hard at work developing DSHOT and this board is also compatible with the latest release. But we didn’t stop there, this board also features a micro adapter to accept TF cards for those of you that like to follow up your flights with reviewing black box logging…we think we know of at least one guy that will like that.

X-Racer Quadrant 4 in 1 ESC

Hello all, we are going to release a new ESC that powered by high performance EFM8BB21 MCU, and flashed with BLHeli_S program. It supports multishot/one shot42/oneshot125. With 25AMp constant RMS (30A max) and supports 4-6s.

One main charateristic of the X-Racer ESCs is that, the four tiny ESCs can be installed seperately on the arms, but also can be installed together like a PCB under the flight controller.

The X-Racer ESCs can be considered as 4-in-1 ESCs, but not the same to other 4-in-1 ESCs that only can be used on one PCB. One disadvantage of other 4-in-1 ESCs is, if one part of the ESC damaged, then the whole PCB have to be changed. It would be too much trouble to the pilots.

But there will be no problem with X-Racer ESCs. The four tiny ESCs can be used together or seperately. Even one is damaged, you just need to change one, no need to change the whole PCB. (Although we don’t believe the ESC would easily damaged.)

Main Characteristics:

1. Can be installed seperately on the arms, or 4 ESCs installed together like a PCB under the flight controller.
2. With 25AMp constant RMS, 30A max.
3. 4-6s Lipo
4. Powered by high performance EFM8BB21 MCU
5. Flashed with BLHeli_S program. It supports multishot/one shot42/oneshot125.

X-Racer F303 FC has been one of the most popular flight controllers in FPV community, and we hope you will like this new ESC as well. Please let us know what you think. You may have the chance to be the first to receive the ESCs and surely FOR FREE!!!.

Thank you.

ZMR180 3K Carbon Fiber Mini Quad Released By FPV Model

With small yet full functional FPV, ZMR250 has gained a lot of popularity since its releasing. However, we have received many request of aksing for smaller airframe. Therefore, to meet some FPV enthusiasts requirement, we decided to design a smaller FPV airframe that deserves the ZMR lable. After a lot of tests and revisions, finally the ZMR180 released. Now both ZMR180 frame kit and ZMR180 ARF are available.

The ZMR180 is a symmetric 18mm size airframe that accommodates 4″ props. The 180mm is measured motor shaft to motor shaft diagonally.

Agile, quick and small all fit together with this kit and its a blast to fly. The ZMR180 is a micro quad designed with “fun” in mind. The ZMR180 frame has high quality 3mm bottom plate and a 1.5 mm top plate. Using the same carbon fiber that you find in ZMR250 V2, you can rest assured that this is NOT the run of the mill cheap eBay Carbon Fiber that most others sell. This CF is backed with FPVMODELs name so you can trust that it is top of the line. The ZMR180 is an awesome time to be had and you will find the smaller size can zoom through gaps that were previously not even considered with a 250 sized quad. The ZMR weighs in at 72g including the given mounting hardware and spacers allowing for an ultra-light weight build yet leaving plenty of build room for adding all necessary FPV gear. If you wanna add more muscle, pick the ZMR180 with the larger mounts for 22xx motors.

Hurry up and get yours now, they are “flying” off the shelves.
